What We Do
Reprieve Australia works to assist in the provision of effective legal representation and humanitarian assistance to those facing the death penalty at the hands of the state. We also work to raise awareness of the application of the death penalty by the state and associated human rights issues.
We do this by:
- raising awareness in Australia about the death penalty and conducting campaigns in response to major issues
- involvement in a number of theatre productions about the death penalty
- sending volunteers to work overseas, directly assisting those facing the death penalty
Raising Awareness & Campaigns
Reprieve Australia regularly conducts talks and events with the aim of raising awareness of capital punishment and of what can be done to combat it and assist those in danger of the death penalty.
We also organize and participate in campaigns around specific issues. For details of some of the recent events we've organized and for upcoming events, see the
News & Events page.
